RESOURCES
These sources might help with the law school process as well. You may want to consider checking them out:
1) Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
The year I worked mostly pro-bono on a case with national recognition, I lived off of $9,800. The information expressed in Rich Dad, Poor Dad helped me manage the money effectively and safely navigate to easier times. Other things that helped were the advice and support of friends and family. Regarding Rich Dad, Poor Dad branded events, I am uncomfortable endorsing the weekend-long classes or seminars, but I enjoy recommending Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Cashflow Quadrant, its sequel. Had I read both before law school, I may have found ways to pay for schooling without using student loans.
2) The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron
Most of my career has consisted of Of Counsel contracts that have given me time to develop other projects, including this website. The exercises in this book have helped me find resourceful solutions and prioritize responsibilities.
Julia Cameron writes about unblocking and fostering creative energy in all walks of life. The book consists of a twelve-week course on creative unblocking, and it offers tools for maintaining that creativity after the course. Ms. Cameron has other materials on www.JuliaCameronLive.com, her website, which I have not reviewed. The original book, though, helps law students and friends manage their time.
3) Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
This book made transitioning from law school to the real world easier. You may want to consider checking it out. I have also read Elizabeth Gilbert’s Committed and At Home on the Range; both are treats. The second one, a cook book introduced by Ms. Gilbert and written by Margaret Yardley Potter, her grandmother, leads to gastronomic treats.
4) Hamilton, An American Musical, Original Broadway Cast Recording
Its passion is contagious and will ignite your own.
For a taste of Lin-Manuel Miranda and friends' work, you may want to consider visiting Alexander Hamilton Rap, Whitehouse Version with Subtitles.
The following are discussed in the Guide, which includes additional uses that save money:
